Connections and Neighbors

Central California Traction Company

October 25, 1978.  Stockton, California.

CCT 42 waits between assignments at the CCT shops in northern Stockton.  These shops also served the Tidewater's electric equipment and TS 100 was built here as CCT 1.

The Alco S1 came to the CCT from the Northern Pacific Terminal in Portland, Oregon.  Purchased by CCT in August 1965, the former NPT 34 would serve until the early 1980's when it was sold to locomotive broker/collector Matt Monson.  It is now in Willits, CA along with RS-1 TS 746/CCT 80, trapped on the closed Northwestern Pacific.  Two sister NPT Alcos also worked for the Yreka Western in northern California.  One survives today on the Mt. Rainier Scenic Railway.
