This classic 1920's postcard shows two CCT interurban cars working the regular train between Stockton and Sacramento.
The graceful Mokelumne River Bridge still stands, located just north of the current end of active track around Lodi. Rails remain in place and according to recent reports the entire mainline to Sacramento is inspected by hi-rail truck on a monthly basis. Perhaps the bridge's final chapter has yet to be written.
