
The top of the timetable chart indicating distance to Hilmar shows clearly that, even into the 1950's, the line to this small and obscure central valley town was still considered the mainline. This dated from the road's 1910's goal to build through Hilmar and on to Fresno. The Hilmar line would be cut back to Chemurgic before the decade was out. Some sources indicate that the line beyond Chemurgic was not even in service when this timetable was issued.
