May 1961 Timetable 12

Timetable 12 was issued in May 1961.  At this point the road was on the verge of another period of great change.  The traffic increases of the 1950's and the shift from fresh foods to canned and manufactured goods had left the physical plant overtaxed.  Steam was gone, but the little GEs could not handle the growing tonnage.  By the end of the decade, the entire railroad would be rebuilt and improved and traffic would move in larger freight cars pulled by secondhand Alco switchers and borrowed WP power.
