Tidewater Southern Railway

August 1941 Timetable 9

Issued on the eve of World War II.  At this time, the interurban service had been abandoned for 9 years, but wire still hung over the lines in Modesto and steam ruled the mainline.  Reefer car traffic was still a major component of TS trains and long cuts of ice reefers were common during the annual harvest rushes.  The Hilmar line is shown as the mainline, but soon it would be mostly abandoned and the main considered to end in Turlock.
