November 27, 1999, Modesto, California.

The end has come.  A southbound LF41 enters Ninth Street lead by well-worn Rio Grande GP40 3075.  This is the last regularly scheduled train to use Ninth Street and is reported, at the time, to be the last revenue train to ever run down the street.  In early 2000, however, the needs of laying the new interchange track with the M&ET will lead UP to reopen the street to detours for three days.
