The last caboose in service on the Tidewater.  This is former WP 623, rebuilt from WP boxcar 15458.  The car was sold to the road in June 1958 and would last in to the early 1970's, being retired on January 30, 1974.  It was a lunch room at a Modesto business for a short time before becoming part of a coffee house.  Today it is a guest house behind a private residence in Modesto having been acquired and lovingly restored in the early 1980's by longtime Modesto resident Tom Rettig.
