date unknown. Stanislaus Trestle, CaliforniaLeading what is probably a weekend special train, TS 202 heads southbound across the
Stanislaus Trestle. The second car
is another TS combine, while the two darker colored cars at the rear are borrowed trailers from the Central California Traction
Company. This trestle survives in service today, with most of it looking much the same. The truss bridges in the background, at the north end of the bridge, were replaced by
box girder sections in 1955. Reportedly these sections were recycled Western Pacific turntables! Note the water barrels placed along the bridge. A recent trip to this site revealed the stumps of old wire poles still in the
ground.
