July, 1991.  Vivian, South Dakota.

Pulling a one car work train, ex-TS 743 is shown at her current home: the Dakota Southern.  In 2001, DS President Alex Huff reported that the locomotive is one of their best and they make sure she is well cared for.  By 2005, however, the DS 76 would be out of service and needing repair.  The venerable GE switcher still retains her rooftop number boards and other appliances from her days in the Central Valley.
