April 20, 1966.  Sacramento, California

Felled by a broken crankshaft in 1964, TS 741 was the first of the 5 70 tonners purchased by the TS and Sacramento Northern to be set aside.  SN's two units and TS 742 would follow a little over 1 year after this photo, being retired and sold to new owners.  TS 743 would become the last on the roster, leaving in 1968.

TS 741 would provide parts to keep her sisters running, languishing at the WP's Jeffrey Shops and slowly being stripped until the carcass was sold to dealer Preston Duffy sometime in 1966.  It was subsequently scrapped.
