unknown.  unknown.

Not shot of 746 working the mainline, probably somewhere between Modesto and Escalon.  The light atop the cab is a special Tidewater add-on.  Almost all TS diesels received the roof-mounted spotlights following a series of grade crossing accidents in the 1950's.  The light was aimable by using a grip handle inside the cab, similar to a police car's spotlight.
