June 21, 1973.  Modesto, California

Resting in South Modesto, 747 is waiting for an assignment.  The packing crates in the background are common sights in the Central Valley and give a hint as to the Tidewater's lifeblood.

Note for modellers and image historians: compare this photo to these shots of TS 746 (1) (2) and it is easy to see that they wore slightly different varients of the same paint scheme.  The roadname is staggered on the 747.  On the 746, each side was different: on one side, the name was centered, on the other, it was staggered, but less than on the 747.  Only the 747 wore the broken orange frame striping.
