date unknown.  Modesto, California.

Second 745 takes a breather next to one of the many food related industries along the line, in this case, the California Dehydrating Company lcoated in the North Yard district of Modesto.  North Yard was actually an industrial area developed by the Tidewater adjacent to the Southern Pacific mainline and located just north of the point where the mainline left Ninth Street at the north end of central Modesto.  According to photographic evidence, North Yard was once under wire and it is possible that the freight motors continued working this area after the de-electrification of the mainline in 1932 until the end in 1948.  North Yard itself lasted until the mid-1980's and was torn out by the UP.
