November 27, 1947.  Oakland, California.

While 106 was sold to the SN on March 31, 1948, this photo shows 106 in Oakland at the SN's 40th and Shafter facility in late November 1947.  Photographs exist of the motor in Modesto as late as September 1947, so this shot would suggest that 106 was transferred to the SN before its formal sale.  As wire remained in service into early 1948, it appears that old 100 reigned as once again as sole electric power for the final few months.  The 106 is outside the locomotive shop in the northeast corner of the SN's compact terminal.
