probably 1942-1945.  probably Oakland, California

This photo stumped me at first.  The TS only had street running in Modesto and a bit in Turlock.  Neither went through residential areas.  And I have seen no evidence that the TS ever used pantographs.  Then I noticed the shades on the headlights, a World War II measure, and realized that this photo is probably taken on the SN's street-running down Shafter Street in Oakland.  If so, this photo shows TS 106 during its sojourn on the SN during the war, making it a very rare shot indeed.  It also shows the 106 with the roadname spelled out and no numbers on the ends, a short-lived image.  SN wooden boxcar 2151 is along for the ride.
