October 16, 1940.  McHenry, California.

Demonstrating well its lugging power, recent arrival TS 132 pulls an impressive train of 56 loads northbound through McHenry.  The cars in sight are mostly wooden PFE ice reefers, a contrast to the RBLs hauling canned goods and grain hoppers of feed the line would see in later years.  Little 132 seems to have this large train well in hand.  One point of interest is the number on the cab.  Records show the locomotive arrived from the Sierra in 1940, becoming TS 32 and being renumbered 132 in 1941.  However, this Al Rose shot clearly shows the engine numbered 132 in late 1940.  Today, McHenry is the southern end of service for the north end of the TS lines.  The tracks beyond McHenry and down Ninth Street in Modesto are gone and being replaced by a trail.
