May 26, 1941.  Modesto, California.

An extremely nice photo of 32 sporting its original number.  Historian extrodinaire Guy Dunscomb captured the engine in service and under wire at the Modesto freight depot.  The hoghead appears to be looking for a signal, perhaps anticipating a back-up move into the joint terminal trackage with the Modesto and Empire Traction just south of the depot.  The date of this photo presents a conundrum: the date on this photo and WP/TS records as to this engine's renumbering contradict the Al Rose photo shown
here.  Note the numbers are on enamel plates now.
