October 28, 1972.  Stockton, California.

RS 1 746 hasn't been wearing the green paint long as it travels northbound through WP's Stockton Yard.  One oddity with the 746's scheme is the roadname on the hood sides.  Each side of the 746 wore the name differently.  The "right" side shown here had the name slightly staggered.  The "left" side, seen in this photo , had the roadname centered.  Sister 747 was different again, having the name staggered farther than on the 746.  Also, 746 had no frame striping, while 747 featured a broken orange stripe.
