August 22, 1937.  Jamestown, California.

Resting at Jamestown on the famous Sierra Railway.  Baldwin 32 was built for freight service on the Angles Camp Branch which wound its way north out of Jamestown.  The compact little engine was designed with the tight curves and switchback of the branch in mind and spent most of its Sierra service there.  Overshadowed by more famous sister 30 (which held down the regular Angels Camp passenger assignment), the 32 toiled in the mountains until the late 1930's.   The branch was abandoned in 1935 and she and the 30 were later declared surplus.  Migrating to the Tidewater in 1940, she would serve another 13 years in the Central Valley.
